Hooked on a Butler's Pantry....
Hooked on the Butler's Pantry.
I would love to have one of these in my old home now, but there just isn't any room. I believe that my main floor half bath was originally just that. With a pass through window into the dining room. I guess only the house knows now, circa 1880. I used to have a nice one in a old apartment I rented in Providence. I thought it was very cool....the glass doors, the small sink...
I hear they're making a come back in new homes being built.
And it seems like the most popular color of choice is white....
With beautiful subway tile...

Of course, this is a nice dark wood one, with some
nifty drawers for storing linens.

This particular pantry seems to be the most popular
one on the web. I see it everywhere...
I'll leave you with this lovely, large pantry. It was found in one of those huge mansions. I like the fact that you can see all your glass pieces and china. Not just stored away in boxes like mine are.To see what others are hooked on this week check out:

Yes, I think the trend is toward open storage kitchen. Either simple shelves or glass doors. All out in the open, so to speak.
ahhh...a place for everything..how wonderful!
Mmmmmmmmmmm I would so love me a butler's pantry! As it is, we have store kitchen stuff in the laundry room. Can't really claim it as a butler's pantry, since he's not in there folding my laundry for me :)
Those butler's pantries are bigger than my kitchen! What a dream... :)
That 1st photo...DREAMY! I love that on the best!
Great pictures! Quite fancy. We have a made a walk in pantry in our new (old) home. I can't wait to start finishing it.
I LOVE these butler's pantries!!!
There was not a butler's pantry in the home tour I went to... a BIG surprise... most of the BIG old Pasadena house have them.
love those large glass cabinets my aunt and uncle have one in their house
I love the first pantry with the chandelier. It's so sparkly and glam-looking :-)

Great pictures! If I had one, I would want the butler too!
Great pics, a nice place to display pretty things.
Yes, you are right, a lot of new homes are being built with butler's pantries. Why not have the extra storage be pretty passing through to the dining room, right? I loved your post!
I have an awesome pantry -- it has a window!! but it's not grand like the ones you show :)
It's just simple...but I love it!
You know what? I pooed the butler's pantry until I saw that last photo. Then I think...I should have a place to not only store, but showcase my dished...now that's a thought.
Love butler's pantries, and loved this post! What great photos you rounded up for us of them. I want one like these soooo badly. Went on an historic homes tour today and saw 6 houses from the late 1800s/early 1900s and they all had butler's pantries that I was drooling over.
Thanks for joining my blog party! Hope you're having a great weekend. :-)
I love love love butler's pantries. I wish I had one. I have an "open" floor plan which does not include space for such wonderful things...but it's on my list for the next house. I'd love to have the extra storage space... a place for everything. Ahh, the entertaining I could do. :)
